Parent Presentations

At the end of each session, parents join the Brilliant Minds family circle to learn about concepts and skills in Social and Emotional Intellegence (EQ). Students enjoy reviewing and summarizing lessons when the audience is so lovingly supportive and proud! These beautiful photos were taken during Mrs. Harris's Session 1 Parent Huddle in September of 2009.

Peace One Day

Brilliant Minds students took a global perspective on a day of international peace. On September 7, 2001, the United Nations adopted a resolution that officially established September 21st as Peace Day, a day of non-violence and ceasefire around the world.  The Peace One Day Foundation’s mission is to make Peace Day a reality which will allow humanitarian efforts a single day each year to provide vaccinations, food, and supplies to war-torn countries.

To help spread the word, Brilliant Minds students challenged HAAS students to maintain peace  in school on Peace Day, September 21st.  Every student in every class that made it through the day without a referral or detention received one white daisy.  The day was a huge success!!  Every student, with the exception of one Kindergardener, maintained the Peace all day!!

Every change we want to see in the world begins with ourselves.  Brilliant Minds students helped HAAS students realize this through their initiative to spread the peace on Peace Day.

Brilliant Minds sends a huge shot out to Peter Goodman for his generous donation, to Whole

Foods Marketplace, Publix, and Field of Flowers for donating daisies, and to Frank Matwa and
Leo for cutting and bunching over 700 beautiful daisies! We could not have done it without you!

Love the program! What an invaluable opportunity to provide for our children; perhaps giving them the tools to succeed no matter what they encounter!
