To meet the needs of all families, enrichment programs are offered in various lengths and price ranges and are conveniently located right on your school's campus.

Enrichment Programs: Class Descriptions

Classes are offered twice per week and are grouped into 4 week sessions for pricing purposes. Program prices also include monthly parent workshops that are designed to assist you in helping your child practice skills in Social and Emotional Learning. The core of Brilliant Minds enrichment programs are lessons in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). SEL is the process of developing fundamental skills for life effectiveness. SEL teaches skills that humans need to manage themselves, relationships, and work effectively and efficiently (CASEL, 2009).

Foundations
1 hour class, meets twice per week

Teaches the essentials of social and emotional learning through role plays, hands-on activities, and small group collaboration. This is the perfect course to lay the foundation of SEL vocabulary and knowledge of skills and strategies.

Explorations
2 hour class, meets twice per week

Teaches the essentials of SEL through role plays, hands-on activities, and small group collaboration and provides professional assistance with homework, exam preparation, and projects. Homework time is a quiet time in Brilliant Minds which allows for meaningful one-to-one student-teacher reflections on daily successes and difficulties. Teachable moments arise during homework time that allows students to practice and apply skills in SEL. This course truly allows students to explore real life applications of SEL skills.

Expressions
3 hour class, meets twice per week

Teaches the essentials of SEL, provides professional homework assistance, and has the extra added bonus of lessons in life skills. Life skill lessons include Money Management, Leadership, and Nutrition. While homework time allows for one-on-one discussions in SEL skills, social challenges naturally arise during lessons in life skills providing optimal opportunities for teachers to guide students through the strategies learned in SEL. This class holistically guide students to realize their potential across many domains and provides unique opportunities for them express their true brilliant self!
